Union Men Open the Season With a “W” (8/22/26)

The Mudturtles traveled to Connecticut to notch their first win of the fall season with a 32-14 victory over Greenwich. After going down 7-0 in the early minutes of the game, the Mudturtles gained their footing and controlled every phase of the game from then on. The pack was buoyed by strong play from Alex Edge, Cam Stephens, Conor Chopey and Chris Herring. The back play was led by inside center Tom Ross exploiting gaps in the Greenwich defense. Ross, Kesh Apanna (2), Cas Malik and Alex Bianchini scored trys for the Mudturtles. A stout defensive effort was also spearheaded by Ross, who made several bone-jarring tackles for losses. The Mudturtles' next match is against Bayonne on Saturday, August 29, at Unami Park in Cranford.
